A certain flare.

I’ve just printed some photos from the Kiev 4 (Jupiter-8M) and the Leica Standard (uncoated 3.5cm). Here’s a couple of the results…

I’m hooked on that flare from the Jupiter-8M lens. Leica glow? Huh.

“Who wants a bargain?”

Due to sheer curiosity, I followed the others into another room. We’d already been reminded that there wasn’t as much stuff in the “yet-to-be-moved-into” new shop, and going off what was on offer in “The Real Camera Shop”, I could believe it. Going off the back of a web-based forum post, I’ve realised I’ve had photography items around me for 38 years. 27 of those years I’ve actually had my own camera equipment (based on the serial number of a Helios 44-2 M42 lens (#80251041)).

27 years!? And I’m learning to use cameras older than that as well! Doesn’t time fly, etc?

Finally, after frequent last minute (last second even) outbids on Ebay, I’ve got myself a Kiev 4!

I’ve managed to buy an uncoated 1937 Leica 3.5cm Elmar lens.
