Drivers

For no reason whatsoever, have a couple of photos of Maltese bus drivers…
Busdriver #1 Busdriver #2

Both taken with the 350D.

Contradiction confusion.

After a good while of saying “Lost data is data lost” in the never-ending jpg-vs-raw debate, someone else has finally said “In RAW, blown highlights cannot be recovered”.

The solution? Bracketing… and use RAW.

Why??

I cannot see any sense in that, in any way shape or form. Have I lost my sanity here?

Street stuff

Architecture… buildings… grafitti…
Rodeo grafitti “Withy Grove Stores” “Old Three Crowns”

All taken with the Leica Standard, prewar Elmar 3.5cm, Agfapan APX100, and developed in ADOX APH09.

The other world…

Taken with the “better than nothing” phonecam… a shot of what the darkroom looks like, when set up and ‘idling’.

A week or two ago, I spent some time polishing up a film cannister.

Yep, a film cannister.

A while ago, I bought a Leica reusable film cannister off Ebay. A fortnight ago, I saw more of these things on Ebay again, though in a more presentable condition. And, as these things are made of brass, out came the “Duraglit”…

The tattered scrap of whatever it looks like, that the casings are on, was once a respectable square of kitchen roll. I assumed I had a “Before” photo, in colour, so begun polishing away a good few decades of grime. Afterwards, I found I only had a b+w photo of the cassette in its previous condition.

I guess I’ll have to leave this unpolished for another thirty-odd years.

A quickie

“hi i’ve just bought a CanoNikoSigmOlympuSony digital lsr. what’s the bestest second lens for it?”

Why are the DSLR users “hung up” about buying a new lens… so fast?

A change…

So I’m known for doing just b+w photos, and not varying the subject matter much beyond big lumbering (and chuffing) lumps of metal shaped like steam engines.

Have a change…
