So, since December, there’s been a number of changes back here.
… and.. er… Happy New Year. Oops… sorry. ![]()
Change number 1. I’m using Windows now. I’m through with the “beat the system” mentality. I’m tired of wondering if hardware-bit “A” will work, because there’s no mention of Linux being listed on the manufacturers website.
Digression alert! Warning!
Back in the days of old, when the mere thought of a 1GHz CPU would send experts into panic mode, and run round in circles screaming about microwaves and fried brains (mmm), hardware manufacturers (and/or Microsoft) coined the phrase “Plug n play”. Only recently have I figured out what “plug n play” means to me. I want to stick the relevant hardware in, power up, install drivers, and be done with it.
Nope, screwing the device down doesn’t bother me, to be honest. Peering into my PC case (or frame, that should be… no sides on the case), I can see four expansion slots being used, and only two of those things are screwed down. And I know my drives only have two screws holding them secure.
Well, it works for me.
Digression/update over.
Last week, I spent some time back in Bolton. I had forgotten… truly forgotten… just what the weather could be like. Grey skies, cold, and rain in various forms. Yes yes, photos are to follow, I did take a camera with me.
Or two.
I gave the Leica IIIc a run. I’d forgotten my lightmeter. My 350D worked well as an emergency lightmeter. See, the one-hour place will only do C-41 processing. And, as I’ve no b+w developing equipment… still, I can easily convert the colour photos to black and white, if need be. So, for the first time in… nah… this century, I’d loaded a roll of colour film into the Leica. Fuji Superia 200 ASA, to be exact.
And my guesswork/350D exposures look absolutely fine.
So, without further ado… film photos!
